I. Preface
6.0 FSC International School of Skating and SkateGold LLC have developed a list of designated rules to be followed while skating on our ice.  Due to the crowded nature of some of our sessions, the rules will be strictly enforced. These guidelines have been set to insure the safety and well being of all skaters and coaches. The Management of 6.0 FSC International School of Skating and SKATEGOLD LLC designates each session for specific disciplines (Free/Pairs open, low and high, and dance). Each session is presided over by a session monitor and/or coach in charge designated by the Executive committee of 6.0 FSC International School of Skating and employees of SkateGold LLC. These persons are empowered to enforce all rules and make decisions regarding these rules. Violations of these rules will be reported to the Executive Committee of 6.0 FSC International School of Skating. Disciplinary procedures and polices according to 6.0 FSC International School of Skating may be instituted at the discretion of the Executive Management of 6.0 FSC International School of Skating and SkateGold LLC. Situations not covered by the existing rules will be settled at the discretion of the ice monitor or coach in charge and the attending coaches at the time of the occurrence. These on the spot decisions will be binding to all members and guest any appeals should be written in writing to the executive committee for further review. It is the obligation of each member and, in the case of skaters under the age of 18, each parent to be familiar with these rules and the U.S. Figure Skating  Rules.

III. On Ice Etiquette (Protocol)
1.        It is important of every skater to be aware of what is going on around them at all times when skating on a session. Extra attention must be paid to who ever is doing their program; they will be wearing a reflective vest. Every effort must be made to give the right-of–way to the program skater. Skaters in lessons also have the right- of- way over non- lesson skaters. Younger skaters/less experienced skaters must make sure they stay out of the way of the older more experienced skater. Higher level skaters are faster and need more ice to setup jumps. It is customary protocol to give them the right -of –way.
2.        If a skater is not skating they should stay by the boards until they are ready to skate again. Special attention must also be paid to skating away from the boards.
3.        Keep traffic moving at all times. If you are stopping to watch or talk to your coach, keep your back to the boards so you don’t accidentally back into other skaters.
4.        Since everyone would like the same courtesy, please remember to be considerate. If you do get in some ones way, please apologize promptly. If you collide, stop and assist the other skater. Even if you are the program skater, safety must be the first priority.

IV. Music Playing Procedure
1.        Label tapes with name, and length of music. Only pre-cut music will be played unless requested by a coach. Submit tapes to the monitor at the beginning of the session.
2.        All skaters must wear a reflective vest when their program music is played. This lets all other skaters know who is working on their program and ensures the skater the right of way.
3.        Warm-up music and music played while programs are not being played must be approved by SkateGold LLC.
4.        Programs will begin playing 5 minutes into the session. The monitor will play tapes according to assigned rotation for that session.  Every effort will be made to play each skater tape at least once.
The pros will have absolute priority to the play the music. The pro must be aware of who is in a lesson    and who is not when placing their program in line.
5.        If there is no music monitor on a particular session, it is the responsibility of the skater’s and the coaching staff to adhere to these guidelines.
6.        If you are not sure who is in a lesson then please ask the skater or coach.
7.        If there are two or more pros requesting music the same time, the skater with the higher passed freestyle level receives the music first.
8.        Please report to the Monitor when called  “ON STANDBY” in order to put on the reflective vest. Please wait near the boards until the previous skater has finished. Immediately assume the starting position for your program.
*** Everyone must adhere strictly to these guidelines to avoid any problems.
